Youtube: Railway extra: how to motorize the BR 89 by BlueBrixx

Even such a small locomotive as our BR 89 can be motorized. In this video we show you how it works! We use the current powered-up engine system that Lego has been using in its railway sets since 2018.

The middle wheel of the BR 89 cannot be attached to an engine block by normal means. Marco explains what radical solution to this problem a brick fan has found and documented. Here is the link to the english forum where the mounting of the center wheel is shown. (Implementation at your own risk!)

It's always something special for us when a new set is released. This is especially true when we present a new locomotive, because railroad fans are especially looking forward to such models. And if it is not just any locomotive, it will be quite exciting...

Today the newly built track system of the Brick Studio is inaugurated with a special steam locomotive: The BR 89, or more precisely the BR 89.0, is probably one of the most often produced locomotives in the world!

At least in the model railway sector. Marco introduces the small steam locomotive in detail and also reveals how often it was originally driven on German rails. He also illuminates the construction techniques of this model with 358 parts, because there is a lot to see here!

Locomotives and railcars are great, but the central ingredient of a track system are of course the tracks themselves. You can never have enough of tracks and switches to construct versatile railway lines with countless options for the trains. Having nothing but a small track circle becomes boring relatively quickly, more accessories are needed.

Today Marco is building such a track system in the Brick Studio. For this he uses our new accessory sets: We now offer switch tracks, flexible tracks and sets with 2 buffer stops!

Marco takes a look at the new sets and installs them right on the studio table. Everything fits, now the new passenger cars can come!

The US tank destroyer GMC M36 Jackson was used in the final phase of the 2nd World War. Better armed and better armoured, it was a radical upgrade of the M10 Wolverine.

In this video Marco introduces the BlueBrixx model of this tank. As always, he has some information on the historical model prepared and goes into details of the model's implementation with bricks. The video builds on the information about the M10 Wolverine, which is presented in this video.

What is dark green and unique? Our military models of the US Army! Only we produce some of their parts in dark green. In general, you can download our building instructions for free and build the sets with your own bricks - but with our US tanks you may have to change the color. Today Marco presents one of these models in the Brick Studio:

Tank destroyers - lightly armored and heavily armed - were an important part of the US Army in the 2nd World War. While battle tanks mainly supported infantry, tank destroyers specifically fought enemy tanks.

In this video Marco illuminates this type of vehicle and introduces the GMC M10 Wolverine. Almost 5,000 units of this US tank destroyer were built before new tank models of the German Wehrmacht made stronger tank destroyers necessary.

You can build anything out of bricks, but usually the models are rather compact and stand on large plates or many wheels. Sometimes, however, true master builders show that you can also build completely different things out of bricks:

Today Klaus and Michael have company in the Brick Studio: Between them lurks a dangerous monster from the depths of space!

Klaus can hardly get enough of this detailed model that Michael brought with him. Together they talk about building techniques, articulation possibilities and the saliva flow of the big Xingbao set. 2,020 parts and over 50 cm high, a model not from this world!

The Polish brick producer Cobi is known for its detailed sets with many special parts. Cobi holds licenses for brands such as Maserati, Boeing, Trabant or the Smithsonian Institution. Today we take a closer look at two sets from such license themes.

This time Klaus sits alone in our Brick Studio and presents two sets that Cobi released in 2019 on the occasion of important anniversaries: a Trabant 601 "30 Years of the Fall of the Wall" with a watchtower, a tollgate and a piece of the Berlin Wall and the Apollo lunar module. Exactly 50 years ago the first humans landed on the earth's satellite!

Klaus then builds the Apollo module in a new speedbuild. He shows special parts and comments on interesting construction steps. Doing all that, will he always pay attention to the building instructions?
