Space Exploration - Cosmic receiving base

A radar station of the SETI programme (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is to receive and analyse signals from space in order to detect intelligent extraterrestrial civilisations.

The facilities are usually located in remote areas to minimise interference from human activity. The instruments are extremely precise and sensitive in order to pick up even the weakest signals from the infinite expanses of space.
