At 508 meters, Taipei 101 (named after its 101 stories) towers far above the skyline of Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.

Taipei 101 was the tallest skyscraper in the world (without antennas or masts) until it was replaced by the shell of the Burj Khalifa in early 2007.
