Stonehenge is a Neolithic megalithic structure built over 4000 years ago near the River Avon near Amesbury, southern England. It was used at least until the Bronze Age.

UNESCO declared Stonehenge a World Heritage Site in 1986.
The latest research suggests that the site where the remains of the monument can be viewed today had ritual significance for people 11,000 years ago.
