El Castillo-Kakulkan, Mexico

The pyramid of Kulkucán (Mayan for Quetzalcoatl) is located in the ruined city of Chichén Itzá. The Spanish invaders called it El Castillo, which means castle or fortress.

The Mayan temple has various architectural acoustic features - so that clapping in certain places sounds like animal calls or footsteps like raindrops.
