Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile

After 30 years of construction, the Arc de Triomphe was completed in 1836 and is one of Paris' landmarks.

Due to its location in a huge traffic circle, it is only accessible to pedestrians via a specially built underpass. Beneath the arch is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where an eternal flame commemorates the unidentified victims of the First World War.
