Golden Retriever

Originally, the Golden Retriever was bred and used as a hunting dog to retrieve ducks without damaging them. However, its gentle nature also increased its importance as a guide, sniffer, search and rescue dog.

The breed is also said to have a strong need to please its owner - this has led to the Golden Retriever being a popular family dog.
If they are poorly trained, they can hardly be stopped from plunging into the nearest body of water or leaving it again at their master's request.
